Senior Software Engineer
Nov 2023 to Sep 2026

I worked on how translated content appears on the Reddit website. I built the controls readers use to switch between translated and original text, the language menus, the feedback dialogs and the translation settings. Later I took over engineering ownership of the web translation experience.
I designed and built performance improvements for web translation, and tested them with controlled prototypes. I also created the first end-to-end tests for translated content across pages, feeds and search, and wrote up ideas for making those tests more reliable.
Beyond the product work:
- Partnered with other engineers on features that serve translated content to people arriving from search.
- Consolidated localization runbooks and handled knowledge transfer to other engineers.
- Helped coordinate new language launches and reviewed build changes for translation risk.
- Worked on machine translation quality checks alongside the end-to-end tests.
- Built editor and browser tools for testing, request inspection and debugging.
- Wrote technical guides for engineers and AI coding assistants.
